Public-private-farmer partnership is crucial in promoting knowledge-intensive agriculture.

A clearly conducive interphase between the private and public sector to promote knowledge-led agricultural growth is yet to emerge. There is no ideal model developed, let alone being practiced, to distribute the gains from the innovative technologies between the government and private sector. Professor Paul PS Teng of the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore explores the potential complementary roles of the public and private sectors in the transition from a labor-intensive to a more knowledge-intensive agriculture.
