How Utilities Can Cost and Adapt to Climate Change: ADB Experience in the Pacific

26 September 2017

To adapt to weather-changing conditions, how can utilities and stakeholders identify through thousands of assets the one that is at risk?  How can they quantify the cost of increasing risks, losses, and insurance to their projected cash flows, and prepare an adaptation plan?

Climate Risk Australia's Dr. Karl Mallon will present how climate science hard up can be mixed with infrastructure engineering and financial analysis, using big-data and high-speed cloud computing. He will present the approach being deployed in Samoa and Fiji under a pilot funded by Canada Reach program through ADB’s Water Financing Partnership Facility.
