The 7th International Skills Forum: Anticipating and Preparing for Emerging Skills and Jobs will build on the previous skills forums and will take a holistic approach to skill development by linking pathways and youth aspirations across different levels of education, highlighting the importance of different types of skills (cognitive, noncognitive, and occupational), and focusing on lifelong learning for an increasingly mobile workforce having new and varied jobs, and longer working life.
The forum aims to:
- showcase transformational practices to equip the youth with employable life skills;
- invite representatives from government, private sector, and other partners involved in education and training to showcase innovative good practices; and
- inspire experts and developing member countries’ counterparts, and promote collaboration with key stakeholders to incorporate new approaches to design and implement innovative projects and programs in education and training.
The forum will include a select number of international keynote speakers and a number of presentations from practitioners, highlight how the private sector is contributing to skills development in preparing their workforce needs, and demonstrate cross sector collaboration.
